May 6th…Day 47. Are we still doing OK? Did anyone try to manage their breathing after yesterday’s post? Did anyone pass out? Gosh, I hope not! As we dive into day 3 of my series we have talked about things you can do on your own. Today, we are going to go over the importance of WHAT. What are you going to do to achieve your goal for a better life?
I’m sure it’s weird for a mid-west gal to be offering self-help but we all go through life events. For over a decade I’ve been diagnosed with anxiety, depression, and PTSD. In a time where so many people are getting their first glimpse of mental health the least I can do is offer some wisdom.
When we set goals, we acknowledge the outcome or what we want to achieve; but it’s equally important to figure out how you are going to get there.
How are you going to reach your end goal? How are you going to be happier?
Think of it this way; if you want to lose weight you don’t say “I’m going to lose 5 pounds” and just assume it will happen. You need to make changes or intentional actions like cutting out the candy bar or going to the gym an extra 30 minutes a day.
Here’s some great suggestions for how you can work on your mental health now during the global pandemic and in the future:
- Journaling (Check out my post on Journaling)
- Breathing Techniques (Check out my post on Breathing Techniques)
